  5. Unibatch enables the user to initiate, monitor and control the execution of
  6. jobs in a batch/background environment, by use of easy-to-understand screens
  7. and simple-to-use ring menus. Jobs are submitted to Unibatch specifying the
  8. programs to be run, and the names of other jobs to be initiated upon successful
  9. completion of the current job. Unibatch selects jobs by priority and
  10. availability. Through Unibatch, the number of 'slots' or 'streams' that can be
  11. active at any one time can be selected so that jobs can run concurrently. For
  12. example; six active slots would allow six jobs to run simultaneously. Jobs can
  13. be run at a pre-determined time, either as one-off, or on a regular basis
  14. (daily, weekly etc.) A log file is maintained which is available for
  15. interrogation and can also be used as an audit trail.
